Job summary

ReDiscover invites you to join its Children’s Community Service Department as a School Based Therapist. You will collaborate with a mission-driven team to provide biopsychosocial assessments, case management, and tailored treatment plans for school-aged youth in home, school, or community settings.

The position requires a Master’s or Doctorate in a social science field, licensure or eligibility (PLPC/LMSW or LPC/LCSW/LMFT preferred), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field.
• Licensure such as PLPC, LMSW, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT is preferred.
• Ability to work with individuals with multiple challenges (mental illness, substance use, physical challenges, developmental disabilities).
• Valid automobile operator’s license and vehicle with coverage as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide biopsychosocial assessment and case management for children and youth who are clients of ReDiscover.
• Assess children and families using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Develop and monitor treatment plans aligned with client needs and treatment goals.
• Follow through on all identified tasks and interventions and coordinate across involved parties.
• Integrate services to address client needs with all stakeholders.

About Children's Community Service Program

Our Children's Services program offers mental health services to school aged youth at home, school, or in their community. Our staff have smaller caseloads, are able to see clients one or more times a week, and have flexible schedules. This helps to ensure that a child's services are not disrupted due to transportation or family scheduling concerns.

What You’ll Do

• Provide biopsychosocial assessment and case management services as appropriate for children and youth who are ReDiscover clients.
• Assess children and families accurately and completely using all the diagnostic tools required.
• Develop treatment plans that match the needs of the child/family/community and works toward meeting goals of the treatment plan.
• Follows through with all tasks and interventions that are identified by all parties involved
• Integrates service provision to all parties to address the needs of the client.
• Demonstrates clinically sound judgment and seeks appropriate supervision and/or training for difficult or hard to serve clients
• Maintains clear concise communication that is timely and accurate with all parties to the service provision.
• Meets with clients/families within the timeframes established by the program.

Requirements Of The Position

• Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients enrolled in the program.
• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).
• At the minimum, candidates with advanced Missouri licensure such as Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW); candidates with a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is preferred.
• The ability to work with all persons with multiple challenges (mental illness, substance abuse, physical challenges, developmental disabilities, etc.).
• A valid automobile operator’s license, vehicle and state minimum require automobile coverage is required.
