Job summary

REGION VI COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH COMMISSION in Greenville, MS is seeking an experienced therapist with a graduate degree to provide treatment in school and home settings. This full-time, day-shift role emphasizes delivering therapy within a therapeutic milieu and coordinating with families and schools.

You will obtain and maintain licensure/certification, collaborate with case managers, and refer clients to related services while serving as a liaison among students, families, and community

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or DMH approved related field.
• Eligible to meet DMH Certification/Licensure requirements for Therapist.
• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• To develop and provide appropriate treatment strategies within a therapeutic milieu.
• Provide therapy in school and home settings (individual, group, school based, family and day treatment if applicable).
• Obtain Therapist certification of License as required by Department of Mental Health and maintain Certification/License in good standing.
• Provide referral to services that may benefit the consumer, consumer’s family and/or school personnel.
• Establish weekly meetings with case manager(s).
• Serve as liaison between student, home, school, and community resources such as family service agencies, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, local MAP teams and clergy members.
