Brief Description

As a School-Based Therapist in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division, you’ll work in our CTSS (Children’s Therapeutic Support Services) program. You will have the opportunity to implement high-quality, culturally-sensitive mental health services to children and adolescents in the school setting. We are looking for a compassionate individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve.

Nystrom & Associates is a group of professional care providers from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical social work, addiction treatment, and nursing who are committed to helping individuals and families that are experiencing personal, emotional, marital, or psychological challenges. In This Role, You’ll Have The Opportunity To

  • Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to children, adolescents, and their families in a school setting
  • Assist children, adolescents, and their families in identifying goals for functional improvement and work with them to meet their goals
  • Design and implement treatment/intervention reflective of the child’s needs
  • Work collaboratively with the school district, school personnel divisions, and other community-based agencies
  • Provide psychoeducation to school staff
  • Design and implement therapeutic groups for students
  • Receive clinical supervision from a qualified staff, and obtain continuing education units
  • Employees pursuing professional licensure are eligible to participate in Nystrom & Associates’ Professional Development Track, which offers opportunities for training, advancement, and working as an Outpatient Therapist after 9 months of school-based services.

Requirements

  • Must be qualified in at least one of the following ways:
    • Meet the Clinical Trainee requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.06, having completed an accredited graduate program for independent licensure as a mental health professional
    • Meet the Mental Health Professional requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.02, licensed as LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in Minnesota
  • Ability to work independently; Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
  • Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
