Job summary

Poplar Bluff School District is seeking a School-Based Therapist to support students’ social-emotional well-being and academic success within a school setting.

The role involves delivering individual, family, or group therapy, crisis intervention when needed, and collaboration with school staff and families. A Master's degree in a related field and active Missouri licensure (LCSW/LPC) are required, along with a valid driver’s license and supervision commitments for licensure progress.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Psychology or related field.
• Active Missouri license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in education, mental health or related field.
• Valid Missouri Driver's License.
• Approved supervision registration for LMSW working toward licensure or Provisional Licence Professional Counselor, with supervisor commitment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct individual, family, or group-based behavioral or mental health therapy and psychoeducation.
• Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and management when needed.
• Provide appropriate referrals for services to students, families, and staff members.
• Provide data collection and assessment relating to development of mental health treatment plans.
• Design and implement interventions to help students meet social-emotional, individual, family, and educational goals.
• Meet and communicate with school staff, parents, and other service providers regarding students.
