Job summary

Brightli seeks a School-Based Support Specialist to help youth transition into community living, working with mental health services and school staff. You will tailor resources to individual needs and promote recovery and resilience.

You will coordinate mental health services during school hours, implement treatment plans, and support students’ success within home and school environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field (or 2 years related work with a bachelor’s).
  • Alternative: 4-year combination of higher education and 2 years related work.
  • AS in Behavioral Health Support accepted.
  • At least 4 years delivering services to individuals with mental health/substance use concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Apply behavioral science to support youth in home and community settings.
  • Provide services on school premises during school hours.

In this role, you will coordinate mental health services within school hours, ensuring that students have access to the necessary resources and assistance during their educational journey. Your expertise in psychological concepts will be instrumental in implementing comprehensive treatment plans that promote student success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply behavioral science principles to support youth in thriving in their home and community environments.
  • Offer specialized services during school hours directly on school premises, empowering students to succeed and improve their overall functioning.
  • Employ a supportive educational approach that aligns with the client’s treatment goals and fosters recovery and resilience.
  • Engage in a range of activities designed to meet the diverse needs andobjectivesof the students.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring coordination with supervisory staff andparticipatingin client staffing toidentifychallenges and set achievable treatment goals.
  • Provide emergency services to students in emotional crisis, offering rapidassistanceand comprehensive follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely withBrightliOperational Guidelines and adhere to professional ethical codes.
  • Support management requirements, including data collection, program evaluation, and grant applications.
  • Conduct outreach and home visits as necessary to engage with clients, particularly during school breaks.
  • Be prepared to take onadditionalresponsibilities as needed to ensure the successful provision of mental health services.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other human services specialized field of study; or
  • A Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field with two years of related work experience; or
  • Any four-year combination of higher education and two years of related work experience; or
  • AnAssociate’sof Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support; or
  • Four years of qualifying experience, which must include delivery of services to individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age tooperatea company-owned vehicle.
  • Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age tooperatea company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance are required.
  • Proof of valid and current auto insurance isrequired.
Physical Requirements:
  • ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of forcefrequentlyto lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
