Job summary

Brightli is seeking a Community Support Specialist in Trenton, MO to help clients achieve greater independence through personalized, community-based mental health services. You will work directly with clients to develop and implement care plans that promote long-term well-being.

You will collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and community organizations to ensure holistic support, using evidence-based practices and a strengths-based approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field or two years qualifying experience.
  • Qualifying experience includes work with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities, including skill-building and recovery-focused coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based mental health services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Strategies.
  • Coordinate care with external providers including physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and client progress.
  • Lead PSR group sessions aligned with treatment plan goals and participate in ongoing staff development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide community-based mental health services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach that incorporates evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Positive Reinforcement Techniques, Trauma-Informed Strategies, CBT, and DBT
  • Provide behavioral interventions using methods including cognitive processing, operant conditioning, and group dynamics
  • Coordinate care with external providers including physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and client progress
  • Facilitate PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation) group sessions as aligned with treatment plan goals
  • Participate in ongoing staff development and training opportunities
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through data collection and reporting
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, schools, and community supports
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field; or Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and two years of qualifying experience*; or Any four-year combination of higher education and related experience; or Associate’s degree in Behavioral Health Support; or Four years of qualifying experience*
  • *Qualifying experience includes working with individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities. Experience should include services such as skill-building, group or one‑on‑one support, recovery-focused coaching, or assistance in community functioning and employment.
Employment Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
