Ann Arbor Public Schools, at Tappan Middle School, seeks a Teacher Assistant for an LRE setting. The role requires teamwork with teachers and staff and a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning and health needs.

Duties include assisting with classroom activities, meals, field trips, and personal care as needed; maintaining health records; and ensuring safety. Regular on-site attendance is essential.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one of the following credentials.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree, or 60 college credits, or CDA certificate.
• Passing MTTC or ETS ParaPro assessments.
• Ability to work with school-aged children.

Mansioni

• Support students with medical needs in lunchrooms and other school settings.
• Assist students with bus arrival and departure.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff as a team.
• Assist students with self-care needs, including personal hygiene and toileting.
• Maintain records monitoring student health and progress.
• Monitor activities to ensure safety of students, classmates and staff.
• Accompany students on field trips.
• Be willing to be trained in seizure protocol and care for diabetes, asthma, or allergies.
• Assist students with classroom activities and assignments as requested by the teacher.
• Escort children to and from various rooms.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
