Job summary

The Gengras Center School in West Hartford, CT seeks a Substitute Speech-Language Pathologist to provide screening, assessment and diagnosis of speech, language, voice and hearing disorders. The role develops individualized educational programs and collaborates with staff to support students’ communication needs within PPTs and IEP goals.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, determining AAC needs, providing staff training, and ensuring dysphagia safety during meals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• ASHA CCC certification required.
• CT Department of Public Health licensure preferred.
• Experience with moderate to severe communication disorders and AAC is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements individualized speech-language programs based on assessments and PPT recommendations.
• Performs screenings and assessments for speech, language, voice, and hearing disorders.
• Collaborates with school staff and participates in team meetings.
• Provides dysphagia management and safe swallowing practices.
• Maintains progress data and reports for IEP goals.
