Job summary

University of Saint Joseph seeks an experienced speech-language pathologist to support The Gengras Center. The role involves screening, assessing, and diagnosing speech, language, voice and hearing disorders, and developing individualized education programs based on PPT recommendations.

The successful candidate will collaborate with staff, participate in transdisciplinary teams, and provide in-service education to school staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Certification by the CT State Department of Education required.
• Graduate study in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders completed.
• Licensure by the CT Department of Public Health required.
• ASHA Certification (CCC) required.
• Experience with moderate to severe communication disorders including AAC and hearing loss.

Responsibilities

• Screen and assess students' speech, language, voice, and hearing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) per PPT guidance.
• Collaborate with staff, participate in transdisciplinary teams and PPT meetings.
• Provide staff education and training in-services.
• Acquire and maintain assistive technology and SGDs.
• Coordinate with audiologists, BESB, and outside SLPs for swallowing and AAC needs.
