Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat students in a school setting. This in-person role requires Michigan licensure as an SLP, ASHA CCC or CF, and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

You will collaborate with educators and families to support communication development. Responsibilities include comprehensive evaluations, diagnostic reporting, and direct services for expressive, receptive, and pragmatic

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • MI State licensure as a SLP (if applicable).
  • CCC-SLP certification from ASHA unless a CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate speech and language functions.
  • Complete MARSE-aligned evaluations.
  • Provide diagnostic summaries and reports.
  • Maintain communication with parents and other team members.
  • Document student progress with objectives and long-term goals.
  • Provide direct services for expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development in educational settings. Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Requirements
  • ASHA certification
  • Michigan State SLP Licensure or willing to obtain
Additional Details
  • In-person only
  • Must reside within 40 minutes of the school district
  • Master's Degree in Speech & Language Pathology, Valid full Michigan
  • License in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency/ (CCC); CFs can be considered
  • Current LARA licensure
  • Must possess and demonstrate a strong understanding of the areas of
  • standardized and informal assessment strategies related to communication disorders
  • Must be confident in the ability to conduct comprehensive speech & language evaluations
  • Plan and provide services for students who have been identified as speech and language impaired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate speech and language functions
  • Complete, comprehensive, and appropriate evaluations according to MARSE
  • Standards, District Guidelines, and ASHA Guidelines
  • Provide a complete diagnostic summary report, including a summary of the evaluation information
  • Maintain communication with parents and other relevant team members
  • Document student progress through specific objectives and long-term goals
  • Complete Medicaid billing services are provided to students in an efficient,
  • Comprehensive and timely manner
  • Participate in building designated teams to provide pre-referral
  • interventions
  • When appropriate, make a referral for further evaluation
  • Provide direct services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • MI State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable)
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
