Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services seeks a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Sarasota, FL to support students in the county’s public schools. The role may be full-time or part-time, with a W2 arrangement and a competitive hourly pay rate of $57–$60.

You will assess students, develop IEP-aligned treatment plans, collaborate with educators and families, and document progress while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Florida State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA (unless CF).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to culturally competent, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech-language pathology interventions to improve articulation, language, and fluency.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support classroom participation and social activities.
• Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate parents, teachers, and staff on strategies to carry over skills in the classroom.
• Maintain accurate records including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
• Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology in schools.
• Participate in IEP and school-based professional development meetings.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ethics.

Position Overview

Strides Therapy is looking for a full or part-time SLP to support students in the Sarasota County Public School System. As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Compensation/Hours

• Pay Rate: $57-60 per hour for direct/indirect time (W2 Role)
• Hours: 7.5 hours a day, 37.5 hours a week for full-time employees
• School Calendar Dates: 8/10/2026 to 05/26/2026 with potential to continue to next school year if desired

Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.

• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Florida State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
