Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Permanent School Occupational Therapist to join our collaborative healthcare team in New York. The role focuses on assessments, therapy program development, and collaboration with educators to support student learning and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will hold an SLP-related master’s degree, a current license, and at least 1 year of experience in a school setting. A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an SLP, preferably in a school setting, but new grads considered.
• Proven experience conducting assessments and evaluations, and developing and implementing effective interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' abilities and needs with a focus on academic performance, social and emotional development, and physical health.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy programs for students to improve daily activities and educational outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective OT interventions.
• Provide guidance and training to school staff and families on supporting OT needs at school and home.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of diagnoses, treatments, and progress.
• Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in occupational therapy to improve treatment strategies.
• Advocate for inclusion and participation of students with disabilities in all school activities.
