Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Screen Pre-K–8 for speech and language problems using testing methods.
• Organize a program addressing local school speech-language goals.
• Collaborate with school personnel to meet objectives.
• Coordinate speech-language services with other staff.
• Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
• Adhere to rules, regulations, laws, and ethical standards.
• Conduct speech and language screenings.
• Administer formal and informal assessments.
• Obtain diagnostic information from appropriate persons and available records.
• Analyze information to determine need for services.
• Provide information on speech-language programs.
• Supervise interns, paraprofessionals, volunteers, and others as appropriate.
• Demonstrate knowledge of communicative disorders.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers on management of disorders.
• Plan evidence-based interventions for individuals and groups.
• Use evidence-based methods and adjust strategies based on progress.
• Manage facilities, materials, and equipment including assistive tech.
• Promote interpersonal relations with students.
• Complete procedural documentation and Medicaid billing for eligible students.
