Job summary

Simpson Central Elem School is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech and language disorders. You will develop IEP goals, collaborate with teachers and families, and provide direct and indirect therapy across individual, small group, and classroom settings.

You will support students under IDEA, Section 504, and MDE regulations, ensuring equitable access to services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Mississippi licensure or ability to obtain licensure.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and MDE regulations related to speech services.
• Experience working with children in educational settings preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to provide therapy in individual and group settings.
• Commitment to student success and equitable access to services.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and provide therapy for speech and language disorders.
• Administer assessments and interpret results for eligibility.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals related to speech and language.
• Provide direct/indirect therapy in varied settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, admins, and other professionals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary evaluations.
• Maintain documentation in line with IDEA, 504, and FERPA policies.
• Provide training and resources to staff on communication strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
