Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools in Ashburn, Virginia seeks a Speech Therapist to diagnose and remediate speech and language problems in students and to provide consultation to educational staff.

This role requires collaboration with regular and special education teams, lead eligibility processes, write goals, schedule services, and maintain progress reports and annual summaries. Immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligible for Virginia license.

Responsibilities

• Screens for possible speech/language impairments in preschool, kindergarten, new students and referrals.
• Leads the speech/language eligibility committee; writes goals and objectives in an integrated plan.
• Schedules and groups students; coordinates remediation with teachers and parents; maintains records.
• Provides in-service education to staff; consults with teachers and other SLPs; participates in in-service activities.
• Documents progress in progress reports and annual reports; communicates with families.
