Job summary

The role emphasizes collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, family outreach, and the use of assistive devices to support student communication. A BASLP license with SLP credentials is required, with a Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed SLP BASLP required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in school-based speech-language therapy is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of speech, voice, fluency and language disorders.
• Experience evaluating student status, designing treatment plans and delivering therapy.
• Familiarity with augmentative communication devices and specialized equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses the student's functional status to identify needs for speech-language therapy.
• Selects, administers and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Gathers background information to assist with determining causes of speech disorders.
• Participates in child study, IEP, staffing and eligibility meetings as required.
• Develops individualized education plans and implements therapy targeting IEP goals.
• Provides consultation to teachers and staff to integrate speech-language techniques in lessons.
• Maintains thorough records and monitors student progress.
