This position will evaluate and provide speech language services to individuals who are eligible for speech language impaired services by meeting the criteria for the federal definition for a Speech Language Impairment (SLI).

Must possess or qualify for licensure with the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech‑Language Pathology. Preferred – Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, proficiency in assessing students’ communication skills and ability to interpret test results meaningfully, ability to design, implement and evaluate a comprehensive program appropriate to the educational needs of the communicatively impaired student, knowledge of local, state, and national regulations relative to the speech‑language impaired, proficiency in public speaking and written communication to express and/or exchange ideas, proficiency in the use of a variety of instructional technology and knowledge of basic augmentative and alternative communication systems, emotionally mature, objective and sensitive to people and their concerns, ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and maintain good working relationships with students, families, staff, co‑workers and community agencies, strong understanding/appreciation of speech and language differences vs. disorders.
