The SLPA assists the SLP with evaluations, provides therapy for eligible students under IEP guidelines, and maintains progress data and family communication.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology and a Florida DOH SLPA license; school-based or pediatric

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Florida DOH license for SLPA.

Responsibilities

• Assists the SLP to evaluate students suspected of speech and/or language disorders.
• Provides therapy for eligible students as indicated in the IEP.
• Maintains progress data and communicates progress to parents.
• Conducts re-evaluations as required under supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Keeps records per regulations and submits Medicaid records as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited four-year college or university
