Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive language and articulation services in city schools, conduct assessments for IEP planning, and consult with school staff and families.

The role includes in-service training, collaboration with educators and related services, documentation in compliance with federal/state laws, and participation in various meetings to support students with communication disorders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology
• Eligible for license to practice Speech Pathology
• Familiarity with child development and language development
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with students, parents and staff
• Knowledge of early intervention techniques and assessments
• Proficient with basic computer applications

Responsibilities

• Provides speech and language services and consultation to school staff
• Conducts formal and informal assessments for IEP planning
• Provides interventions and collaborates with families and staff
• Provides in-service training for staff and participates in prevention initiatives
• Manages documentation in compliance with laws and regulations
• Collaborates with other professionals and community agencies
• Supervises students or trainees as applicable
• Participates in IEP, school meetings and hearings as required
