Job summary

Grow Public Schools (GPS) seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic, remedial, and consultative services for children with communication disorders. The role supports students by assessing needs, coordinating IEPs, and collaborating with teachers and parents in a Kern County school environment.

The ideal candidate holds a California SLP license/credential and a Master’s degree; state/federal compliance knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of assessment and educational software.
  • Experience with English learners is a plus; Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.
  • Affirmative knowledge of state and federal guidelines related to speech services.

Responsibilities

  • Screen pupils for communicative disorders and select cases per guidelines.
  • Conduct assessments using standard tests for accurate diagnosis.
  • Perform triennial speech-language evaluations.
  • Assess preschool children and refer for services as needed.
  • Determine eligibility for articulation, voice, fluency, and language services.
  • Prepare written reports for parents and school staff after assessments.
  • Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with laws.
  • Notify stakeholders about IEP meetings and progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff on speech therapy methods.
  • Provide materials and arrange equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Ensure adherence to GPS policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Attend district meetings and pursue ongoing professional development.
