Job summary

TSP Ed Co is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Southgate, MI. You will build meaningful relationships with students and create an inclusive learning environment to help children reach their academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional goals.

You will collaborate with school staff, families, and service providers to deliver individualized instruction, monitor progress, and support students across diverse needs while maintaining records

Qualifications

• Active Special Education teaching credential/license appropriate for practice in Michigan.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
• School-based and/or special education experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students succeed.
• Ability to meet all applicable school, licensing, and employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing individualized instruction based on students' IEP goals
• Providing specialized academic and behavioral support to students
• Creating engaging, differentiated lessons that meet diverse learning needs
• Monitoring and documenting student progress toward individualized goals
• Implementing accommodations, modifications, and classroom support strategies
• Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff
• Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student planning and goal development
• Supporting students' social-emotional, behavioral, communication, and functional development
• Maintaining accurate student records and documentation
• Maintaining student confidentiality and following all school and TSP Ed Co policies
