Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a School Based Social Worker to support trauma-informed counseling, crisis response, and MTSS within schools. The role involves collaboration with SST, school leaders, families, and external partners to provide evidence-based behavioral health services.

Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, data collection, and participation in ongoing professional development to improve service delivery in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Active MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to work in MA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in Student Success Team (SST) and collaborate with school leaders to implement Tier 1–3 MTSS interventions.
• Provide individual and group counseling with focus on trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention.
• Monitor progress and maintain data; collaborate with families and external partners.
• Attend monthly professional development on district policies and mental health practices.
• Maintain timely reports and liaison with Crisis Team as needed.
