National Center on Institutions and Alternatives Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a School-Based Social Worker (LGSW/LCSW-C preferred) to provide mental health and behavioral support at a non-public school setting.

The role focuses on delivering individual, family, and group therapy, crisis assessment, trauma-informed care, and collaboration on IEP goals to support student success. Experience with children and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required.
• Active Maryland LGSW license (LCSW-C preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches.
• Conduct crisis assessments and interventions to support student safety and well-being.
• Build strong therapeutic relationships that foster resilience, self-awareness, and growth.
• Help shape Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with a strong focus on social-emotional goals.
• Advocate for student needs and ensure appropriate supports are in place.
• Track progress and adjust treatment strategies to drive measurable outcomes.
• Partner closely with teachers, administrators, and clinicians to address behavioral and academic challenges.
• Serve as a trusted consultant to staff on student behavior, mental health, and classroom strategies.
• Help create a positive, supportive learning environment for all students.
• Provide case management and care coordination, connecting families with community resources.
• Conduct intake assessments and contribute to treatment and discharge planning.
• Address attendance challenges by partnering with families and support systems.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinical and legal standards.
• Adhere to all mandated reporting laws and ethical guidelines.
