Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking a qualified Special Education Social Worker to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well‑being of students in a Maine district. The role involves collaborating with students, families, staff, and community agencies to promote student success and a safe, inclusive school environment.

Open to School-Employed or Independent Contractor arrangements; candidates should hold LMSW or LCSW licensure and have school-based experience.

Qualifications

• Current licensure LMSW or LCSW (Maine) required.
• Experience with children/adolescents in school or clinical settings.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and school-based mental health supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling for social, emotional, and behavioral needs per IEPs.
• Participate in IEP, 504, MTSS, and student support team meetings.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and staff.
• Serve as liaison between school, home, and community agencies.
• Assist with behavioral interventions and restorative practices.
• Maintain confidential documentation in compliance with ethical standards.
• Support school-wide social-emotional and wellness initiatives.
