Job summary

Newberg Dundee Public Schools is hiring a School Based Social Worker 2 to join the Behavioral Health team. The role focuses on delivering school-based mental health services, assessment, and intervention to promote student success across academics and behavior.

The selected candidate will collaborate with families, educators, and community providers, provide counseling, crisis response, and care coordination, and participate in MDTs and IEP/504 planning as needed.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or CSWA, LMSW or TSPC School Social Work License, or willing to pursue within 6 months.
• Experience in school social work or related child/family services.
• Knowledge of school-based mental health practices and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based practices.
• Conduct social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health assessments to guide intervention planning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans.
• Support students in coping skills, emotional regulation, and resilience.
• Deliver short-term therapy and coordinate referrals for ongoing services.
• Respond to crises with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure safety and continuity of care.
• Maintain confidential records and document service coordination and Medicaid billing where applicable.
