Job summary

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for Windham Public Schools in Windham County, CT, for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week.

You will assist in screenings, support evidence-based treatment plans under the supervising SLP, and provide direct therapy to students to support communication, academics, and social success. Collaboration with teachers and families is essential.

Qualifications

• SLPA state certification required.
• Experience supporting speech-language therapy in school settings preferred.
• Must collaborate with teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting screenings to identify students with speech and language needs.
• Support implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by supervising SLP.
• Provide direct therapy services under SLP supervision to support communication skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to integrate language strategies.
• Prepare progress notes and share observations to inform IEP planning.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to supervising SLP for adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records of therapy activities and documentation.
• Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices.
