Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is hiring a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in La Plata, MD. The role focuses on assessing and treating students with communication disorders within the school setting, collaborating with educators and families, and contributing to IEP processes.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, MD state licensure (or eligible), and CCC-SLP (ASHA) credentials.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• MD State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP (ASHA) certification unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to improve communication, articulation, fluency, and language.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based teams to support classroom participation.
• Monitor and document progress, adapting plans as needed for outcomes.
• Educate parents, teachers, and staff on strategies to transfer skills to classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records including session notes and progress reports.
• Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in IEP and team meetings and professional development.
