Job summary

The SLP will develop and implement IEPs, provide therapy, and collaborate with teachers and families while maintaining documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required for state licensure and eligibility.
• Virginia license through VaDHP, BASLP to practice in the school system.
• CCC-SLP certification through ASHA is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates students referred with speech/language concerns and determines involvement and severity.
• Develops and implements IEPs for identified students and follows regulations.
• Provides speech and language therapy per student needs and guidelines.
• Consults with teachers and families about eligible students and therapy plans.
• Presents professional development to faculty and documents therapy notes for Medicaid.
• Screens students for speech/language concerns and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team.
