Job summary

Woonsocket Education Department is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and provide services to students with speech, language, and hearing needs. The SLP works under the department chair and collaborates with families, teachers, and staff to support literacy and academic success.

The position requires RI licensure and ASHA CCC-SLP, with CFY considered. This is a full-time opening located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, beginning immediately, with ongoing posting until filled.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's and Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology; CFY considered
• Must hold or be eligible for Rhode Island speech-language teaching certificate
• Must have or be pursuing ASHA CCC-SLP; Clinical Fellowship Year interns considered
• Must hold an active license through Rhode Island Department of Health

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students qualifying for speech and language services
• Provides services to students with speech, language or hearing disabilities
• Conducts screenings and participates in MTSS-based interventions
• Performs thorough assessments of articulation, fluency, voice, hearing and language
• Provides information and strategies to families for carryover at home and school
• Maintains ongoing student records for progress monitoring
• Consults with parents and teachers to support student goals
• Delivers in-service training to staff as needed
• Performs related duties as assigned by administration
