Job summary

ALABASTER CITY SCHOOLS is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide language, speech, and hearing services in the school setting. The role includes screening, evaluation, therapy provision, and collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress.

The candidate will participate in IEP development and ensure timely communication of therapy progress while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Certificate as required by the Alabama State Department of Education.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification licensure under Alabama laws.
  • Ability to interpret assessment data and develop instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and conducts language, speech, and hearing screenings.
  • Evaluates students for speech-language and hearing needs.
  • Prescribes and implements speech-language therapy for designated students.
  • Collaborates with principals and teachers for scheduling and IEP development.
  • Maintains confidential records and reports progress.
  • Coordinates with school programs and staff.
