Job summary

LEARN Academy is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant for a short-term leave coverage in Buckeye, AZ. You will support students with communication needs, working with a multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions in the educational setting.

Responsibilities include screenings, implementing therapy activities, collaborating with teachers, and maintaining accurate progress notes. Must hold a Bachelor's in SLP and AZ IVP Fingerprint clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Maintain license per ASHA requirements.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card.

Responsibilities

• Assist the SLP in conducting speech and language screenings using established protocols without interpretation.
• Implement speech and language therapy activities designed by the SLP that align with students' IEP goals and educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support the integration of speech and language strategies into the educational curriculum.
• Prepare therapy materials and equipment for use in classroom and therapy activities as determined by student needs.
• Document student progress toward meeting established objectives and report this information to the supervising SLP.
• Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school-based speech-language pathology.
• Assist in organizing classroom activities by preparing educational materials and creating an orderly learning environment.
• Support early intervening services by participating in MTSS or RTI initiatives under SLP guidance
• Use assistive technology devices for communication as directed by the SLP.
