Job summary

Milk Education is working with a SEND specialist provision in the Durham area to recruit SEND Support Workers who genuinely want to make a positive difference in the lives of children with Autism and complex needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is suited to individuals who are patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children to feel safe, understood, and included in their learning.

Qualifications

• Patience and calm demeanor when working with children with SEND.
• Empathy and caring attitude towards learners with Autism and complex needs.
• Strong communication skills to interact with teachers, staff, and external professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and complex SEND.
• Assist with delivery of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Support emotional wellbeing, communication and social development.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
• Assist with personal care where required and follow training provided.
