Job summary

Solterra School in Richmond, VA seeks a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work with students, partnering with BCBA teams, teachers, and therapists. You’ll deliver one-on-one and small-group support, implement individualized behavior and skill-building plans, and help students develop communication, social, academic, and life skills while collecting data on progress.

Hours include building 7:30am-7:30pm; school 8:00am-2:30pm; after-care 2:30pm-7:00pm, scheduling based on needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and willingness to complete required training.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
RBT Certification.
Ability to move and lift at least 50 lbs.
Safety care course and physical activity requirements (walking, jogging, standing for extended periods).
Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students during school and after-school care as needed.
Implement individualized behavior and skill-building plans.
Help students build communication, social, academic, and life skills.
Collect data and document student progress.
Use positive, compassionate strategies to support student behavior and regulation.
Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
Work as part of a collaborative clinical and educational team.
