Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a Certified Physical Therapist Assistant to support students within educational settings. Under the supervision of a licensed Illinois Physical Therapist, the PTA will implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving student access, participation, and progress in school activities.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate Degree PTA from accredited program.
• Must hold current Illinois PTA license (IDFPR).
• Ability to collect data to support progress toward IEP goals.
• Ability to complete daily notes, progress logs, and Medicaid billing within timelines.

Responsibilities

• Implement PT interventions addressing gross motor, sensory-motor, balance, strength, endurance, mobility, and participation.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, mobility routines, and adaptive equipment use.
• Collaborate with teachers, nurses, OTs, and other staff to reinforce PT strategies in daily routines.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of student information.
• Provide staff with guidance on positioning, mobility, and exercise routines.
• Communicate with supervising PT regarding student progress and equipment needs.
• Maintain PT equipment inventory and report needs.
