Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services invites a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our school-based therapy team in Warrenton, VA. This in-person role supports students under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and focuses on mobility, gait, and functional skills within the school setting.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's degree from CAPTE-accredited program, Virginia PTA license or eligibility, and strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia PTA license or eligibility
• Graduate of CAPTE-accredited PTA program
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct PTA services to students per IEPs
• Implement treatment plans under supervising PT
• Assist with mobility, balance, strength, endurance, coordination
• Support transfers, gait training, and safe school mobility
• Assist with positioning, orthotics, mobility devices, and wheelchair management
• Monitor progress and collect data toward IEP goals
• Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions
• Collaborate with teachers and families to support student success
• Participate in IEP/MDT meetings and ensure district policy compliance
