Job summary

Career Links is seeking a Part-Time School-Based Physical Therapist (PT) to evaluate students, design individualized treatment plans, and provide PT services in a school setting. This in-person role collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance mobility and participation in school activities.

The PT will support students with various developmental, neurological, and orthopedic needs, contributing to IEP goals and student independence while adhering to district

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree is required.
• Active or eligible NM Physical Therapist license is required.
• Knowledge of pediatric development and school-based PT practices is essential.
• School-based or pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assess student needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans.
• Provide direct PT services to students, individually or in groups.
• Support gross motor development, mobility, balance, and functional movement.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers.
• Participate in IEP meetings and educational planning discussions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing records.
• Provide training to school staff on PT strategies and safety.
