Qualifications

  • Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid certification as a School Psychologist issued by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a Maryland School Psychologist Certificate.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and maintain professional relationships with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations and reevaluations for students referred for special education services and Section 504 accommodations.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological, educational, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Prepare written evaluation reports and present findings to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, providing recommendations based on assessment data.
  • Collaborate with a school psychologist partner to support referrals, intervention planning, and student services.
  • Participate in MTSS, problem-solving teams, and data review meetings.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families regarding student needs and interventions.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district timelines and documentation requirements.
  • Support data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes.
  • Promote equitable educational practices and advocate for student success across diverse populations.

Position Overview

The School Psychologist will play a key role in supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success through comprehensive evaluation services and collaborative problem-solving. This position focuses primarily on completing initial evaluations and reevaluations for special education and Section 504 eligibility determinations while partnering closely with another school psychologist to support student intervention and data-based decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting MTSS, behavioral interventions, and data-driven problem-solving teams.
