Job summary

You will assess students, participate on IEP teams, schedule and deliver PT interventions, coordinate with teachers, nurses, and families, and maintain confidential records.

Qualifications

• Current Maine physical therapist license.
• Current Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC).
• Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
• Proficiency collaborating within a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
• Experience administering evaluations, writing evaluation reports and collecting data for IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Assess students to determine educational need for PT.
• Participate on IEP teams to set goals and timelines.
• Schedule and deliver PT interventions per IEP.
• Consult with teachers, therapists, nurses, administrators and parents regarding students with physical disabilities.
• Communicate with physicians and service agencies about orthotics/adaptive equipment needs.
• Instruct and supervise classroom personnel in safe transfer techniques and program implementation.
• Monitor progress and provide written reviews.
• Maintain confidential records and timely reports.
• Order and maintain inventory of PT materials.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Adhere to district health and safety policies.
