Job summary

Sumter School District is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist for special education students at the Sumter School District Annex. The role supports IEP goals, collects data, and adjusts interventions in collaboration with the supervising PT.

Responsibilities include implementing PT services, documenting sessions, and contributing to environmental adaptations while maintaining supplies and participating in staff

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in PTA from an accredited PTA program.
• Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to implement physical therapy services under a licensed PT to support IEP goals.
• Conduct individual and group PT sessions as directed by the PT.
• Identify environmental barriers and recommend accommodations.
• Maintain documentation of therapy sessions and data collection as required.
• Assist with equipment, supplies, and therapy area maintenance.
• Attend meetings and participate in staff development as appropriate.
