Lawton Public Schools in Lawton, OK is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the Occupational Therapist in all areas within the district. The role includes both direct and indirect services under OTR supervision and participation in IEP processes.

Candidates must hold an Oklahoma OTA license and NBCOT certification, with pediatrics experience, preferably in a public school setting. This is a full-time permanent position with ongoing professional development opportunities.

Formación

• OTA certification and Oklahoma license required; NBCOT certification.
• 6–12 months pediatrics experience; 1+ year in public school settings preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in identification of students through screenings and initial referral for occupational therapy services.
• Assist with data collection for assessments; make recommendations for intervention and modifications under OTR supervision, participate in IEP team.
• Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services under the direction of the OTR.
• Document all services and file Medicaid claim forms with the Special Services Center.
• Consult with classroom staff, other service providers, parents, and medical personnel regarding therapeutic management of students.
• Provide in-service programs for school personnel on modalities in the student’s IEP (e.g., transfer techniques, body mechanics, positioning/equipment, sensory diets).
• Provide clinical instruction for students in Occupational Therapy Assistant programs.
• Attend workshops and continuing education to grow knowledge of special needs students in the public school setting.
• Perform other duties; maintain safe therapy work areas.
