Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support services under the supervision of a licensed OT, delivering school-based therapy, assessments, treatments, and documentation.

This 10-month, full-time position requires an OTA associate degree, NBCOT certification and NC licensure, with pediatric experience preferred; supervision provided by the manager, EC Programs & Related Services.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in OTA is required.
• NBCOT certification and NC licensure required.
• Experience in pediatric setting preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to OT ethics and service standards.
• Coordinate priorities and schedules for OT services with school personnel.
• Assist with assessment process and developing treatment plans.
• Implement interventions as developed with OT.
• Monitor student response and adjust interventions as needed.
• Document observations and report to OT.
• Collaborate with the supervisor to determine termination of services.
• Maintain service-related records and collaborate on safety/modifications.
• Assist in educational program development and modifications.
• Participate in professional development and continuing education.
