Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide routine patient care, care coordination, and primary prevention within the TCT Healthy Connection program in Dade County Public Schools.

The role supports only the TCT Healthy Connection department and collaborates with ARNPs, RNs, and physicians to document care plans, monitor immunizations, and educate students and families. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in medication calculations and administration.
• Prior experience in Pediatrics preferred.
• Knowledge of CDC and MDCPS vaccine schedules and requirements.
• Ability to work well with team members and uphold standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs screenings and documents results in required formats.
• Reviews student records and immunizations for accuracy and up-to-date status.
• Documents interventions and updates in the student health record (CUMMS).
• observes students seeking care and implements care plans with protocols.
• Communicates progress to ARNP/physician and documents visits promptly.
• Identifies students with chronic conditions and coordinates with families.
• Maintains clinic to meet regulatory requirements and documentation.
• Administers medications per policies and trains teachers/staff as needed.
• Plans and delivers monthly educational programs per school calendar.
• Participates in quality assurance programs and attends staff meetings.
