Job summary

South Kitsap School District in Port Orchard, WA is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the Office of Special Services. This certificated position provides services to students with disabilities and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing and monitoring IEPs, implementing individualized instruction, and participating in eligibility, FBA/BIP, and placement meetings. The role starts in the 2026/2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State ESA Certificate for Occupational Therapist.
• Valid Washington State Occupational Therapy License.
• Flexible, team-oriented and strong communicator.
• Experience in special education programs preferred.
• Knowledge of evaluations, learning strategies and behavior interventions.
• Ability to incorporate new technology into job skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a team member for identification, eligibility, and placement of a group of special needs students.
• Assists in developing and monitoring IEPs for assigned students and modifications of instructional programs.
• Participates with staff to plan, develop, and implement instruction to achieve learning standards for special needs students.
• Participates to develop effective techniques for improving student behavior.
• Maintains student records and sensitive data in a timely and orderly fashion.
• Participates in meetings (IEP, FBA/BIP, eligibility, evaluation, placement).
• Works cooperatively with total building staff in a spirit of cooperation.
