Job summary

SESI Schools in Sacramento, CA seeks an Occupational Therapist to support students with social-emotional needs. You will assess new students, monitor therapy, educate teachers and families, and contribute to IEP planning and documentation. Experience in school or behavioral health settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• NBCOT licensure required.
• Minimum two years of experience in school, special education, or behavioral health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each new student and evaluate OT needs.
• Monitor therapy programs and consult with educational staff for inclusion of OT in educational plans.
• Educate and demonstrate therapy techniques to teachers and parents for classroom/home use.
• Consult on IEPs and document students' needs and supports.
• Monitor handwriting/keyboarding curriculum and train staff/parents in related techniques.
• Provide group therapy interventions for K-8th grade classes.
• Attend parent/teacher meetings for students receiving OT as needed.
