Job summary

Northwestern Illinois Association (NIA) is a regional governmental agency providing special education support to 68 school districts in Northwestern Illinois. This Occupational Therapist position supports students in school settings by assessing needs, developing plans, and implementing interventions to improve academic, social, and physical success.

The role runs 180 days per year, 7.5 hours per day, with a salary range based on experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with school-based technology and office equipment, including computers and software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of students' motor, sensory, and functional abilities to identify needs and develop individualized therapy plans.
• Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to help students meet academic and developmental goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to create supportive learning environments.
• Maintain records including assessments, progress notes, and reports per district and state regulations.
• Participate in IEP meetings and offer insights on motor development, sensory needs, and accommodations.
