Job summary

Fall River Public Schools is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students with disabilities by implementing the occupational therapy process and developing IEPs. The OT will supervise assistants, consult with general and special education staff, and administer assessments to summarize results and inform teams.

Qualifications

• Current certification through the Board of Allied Health Professions.
• Experience in educational settings is required.
• Demonstrate collaborative instructional ability.
• Experience working with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, write and implement IEPs and attend IEP meetings.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and graduate students.
• Provide consultation to general and special education staff.
• Administer assessments, write reports, and provide recommendations.
• Monitor student progress through data collection.
• Adapt environment with assistive technology and train staff.
• Meet district, state and federal program requirements and deadlines.
• Create a positive educational environment using a multi-tiered system of supports.
• Communicate information clearly to the student's team.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current.
