Job summary

Every Special Child is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will meet with students daily, assess needs, and craft individualized therapy plans in collaboration with the school health team.

The ideal candidate holds the Ohio OT license, demonstrates strong communication, organizes care plans effectively, and maintains a compassionate, positive presence while managing multiple cases.

Qualifications

• Must hold the Ohio state OT license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, compassionate approach with students.

Responsibilities

• Screenings and evaluations for fine motor, handwriting, sensory processing, visual-motor skills, or self-regulation.
• Direct and indirect interventions with individual or small groups for functional skills (pencil grasp, cutting, classroom tools, personal care).
• Write and implement goals for IEPs, Section 504 plans, or early intervention programs.
• Modify classroom environments to remove physical and sensory barriers.
• Recommend, fit, and train on assistive technology and equipment.
• Educate teachers and staff on sensory diets, inclusion strategies, and behavioral regulation.
• Assist older students with life skills, vocational prep, and post-school transition.
