Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability seeks an occupational therapist to provide school-based OT services to an assigned caseload, aligning with documented goals and IEPs. You will develop safe, age-appropriate interventions and meticulously document progress.

Regular communication with parents, school staff, and medical professionals is essential, along with training staff on adaptive equipment and AT/DME, coordinating with vendors as needed. The therapy spaces must remain well organized and compliant.

Qualifications

• Valid license and current registration as an Occupational Therapist issued by the NYS Department of Education (NYSED).
• Must be well organized with superior attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to an assigned school-based caseload aligned with students' therapy goals and IEPs.
• Develop and implement safe, age-appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Document annual therapy goals and monitor student progress in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with parents, school staff, and medical professionals regarding health, equipment use, participation in activities, positioning, feeding and other relevant factors.
• Fabricate and train staff on adaptive equipment and AT/DME as needed.
• Attend supervision and maintain organized therapy spaces.
