Job summary

St. Joseph County ISD is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students under the IEP. The OT will assess, treat, and document progress, coordinating with families, teachers, and other professionals to meet educational goals.

The role requires an accredited OT degree, NBCOT certification, active state license, and reliable attendance. The OT will work on-site, visiting students as scheduled and ensuring compliance with privacy and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy.
• Pass the NBCOT exam for Occupational Therapy.
• Hold a valid state license/certification.
• Computer competent for necessary documentation and correspondence.
• Must have regular and reliable job attendance.
• Must have physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
• Ability to lift forty pounds to safely support students and move equipment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat directly or indirectly all students who qualify for treatment related to their IEP.
• Communicate student status and needs to the student’s family, teachers, and other professionals.
• Maintain therapy files with student data, attendance, progress and assessment data.
• Schedule student according to times listed on the student’s IEP.
• Educate teachers, other professionals, and family members about occupational therapy.
• Attend IEPs and necessary meetings on a consistent basis.
• Develop and implement new programs/techniques to enhance occupational therapy services.
• Adhere to school policies related to safety, privacy, confidentiality.
• Demonstrate professional work ethic and reliability.
• Evaluate and adjust students’ equipment/splints as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the St. Joseph County ISD Administrators.
