Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a school-based Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) in Orrville, OH. This onsite role offers up to 20 hours per week during the school year, focusing on individualized O&M instruction and collaboration with teachers and families to support safe travel for students.

You will assess mobility needs, align with IEP/IFSP processes, and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide effective instruction in school and community environments.

Qualifications

• Must hold Ohio Teaching Field of Orientation and Mobility Specialist license.
• ACVREP COMS certification required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; strong interpersonal relationships, cultural sensitivity and competence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and standard office equipment; familiarity with web-based tools (Google Docs) and NCOESC databases.

Responsibilities

• Teach travel skills to students in school settings.
• Evaluate mobility and vision-related orientation needs.
• Ensure compliance with state policies for O&M services.
• Collaborate with teachers and families for IEP/IFSP planning.
• Maintain student records and progress notes.
• Attend IEP/IFSP and required meetings.
• Support mobility training at home and in community settings.
